What
do our clients think of us?
In preparation for an NZQA Audit I conducted an email mini-survey of our
current active clients, and asked them to comment on this question:
Item
1.1.2 in our Goals & Objectives section (QMS) says that we will:
“Deliver quality courses and maintain professional standards in the
delivery of those courses”
My email
simply asked - from the Client's viewpoint:
Are we doing that?
Well, here are
some of the responses. Now, you will note that they are not named.
"Ah-Hah!"
I hear you say: "They're not real!"
Here's
the challenge.
The day you give us a job to do, if you ask me, I can show you the
actual emails, and you can ring them if you like. Call my bluff. Can't
be fairer than that. (I don't want them bothered by people trying to
sell them stuff, that's all. That includes our competition !).
So
here they are:

More than happy to help. We have used you for a number of different
training courses now, and we have generally had very favourable
evaluations from those who have attended. Content has met
expectations, subject matter covered has been in accordance with
course content, and those attending have felt that they have benefited
from attending. As far as your own actual delivery is concerned,
people have generally felt that you have "hit the right
note" in terms of understanding our culture and tailoring the
courses appropriately, and have used a good blend of humour and

presentation/delivery of the recent Train the Trainer Course was

We have contracted STA in the past to deliver training in basic Human
Resource Management subjects to managers and supervisors in the Hotel.
STA has always delivered well targeted courses that specifically
address the needs of the Hotel and the staff involved. Our own
internal appraisals of the training indicate that Steve is a
facilitator with a good feel for the humour and interests of the
group. All staff attending training delivered by STA have exhibited
increased understanding, ability and awareness in line with the
expected outcomes of the training.

(We) were looking around for a
person who could conduct Supervisor development training to a group of
personnel who were sceptical of the need for such training. We were
looking for a trainer that had suitable material to train and could
relate to the personnel being trained. I found Steve to be very
knowledgeable of current regulations as well as being aware of the
proposed changes. This was very useful to us and gained creditability
from the trainees (or course participants). The material
that STA provided was of a good standard with a combination
of: theory, case studies, and practical material. I noticed that
Steve could adapt his presentation style according to the recipient,
to ensure that the message or information transfer was as effective as
possible. Every so often some of the people on the course will recall
certain training aspects to add weight to their argument. I found
Steve to be helpful, professional and where possible he could modify
material to the client requirements. When we conduct further training
we will contact STA to see what is available, and he will be high on

of people with widely varying qualifications, professions and

The presenter was very professional in terms of his technical

workshops delivered by Steve Punter ranged at an audience from senior
lab staff in the junior supervisory levels to our managers. Steve
listened to what our needs were and customised his normal offering so
that it was relevant for our people. He took the time to understand
our work environment. On the one occasion where a workshop was not
particularly successful, he contacted me before I had had a chance to
contact him to discuss the feedback and what he needed to do
differently before we re-ran this particular session. I call that
