The big job almost 12 months in the making is finally about to start! In September Greg Ellis, Kenny King, Cohen Holloway and Thom McGrath head up to Queen's Wharf in Auckland to entertain the masses for the entire duration of the World Cup in Auckland!

The journey began with our stint at the giant rugby ball in Sydney in 2010 and we showed our versatility as performers by being able to change what we were doing on the fly, switching from barkers, to entertainers, to characters whenever the situation dictated. We will be doing a similar job in September and October - working as hosts on Queen's Wharf and helping folk navigate the site, find out what's happening on the Wharf and around the country, entertaining crowds, MCing events - who knows? It was our experience and flexibility that landed the job and its the same flexibility and versatility that we can bring to any funcftion.

While Greg is up in Auckland he'll be working 10 hours a day, 6 days a week so things around the office will be handled by Allie Rutherford, our new Producer. Alliehas been working on our kids' shows for the last year and is Greg's wife so she will be your main point of contact for the next couple of months.

May and June saw some big conferences for The Improvisors to MC. In Sydney, Hamilton, Queenstown, Auckland and Rotorua we were MCing and entertaining crowds of up to 1500 at a time. Some of these big conferences were multi-stream events and we are putting some big conference experiences under our belt now. It doesn't matter how big or complex your event is - we can make it memorable!

At the other end of the size spectrum we've had some cool smaller jobs as well. Greg was the Chair of the 2 Minute Thesis Competition and got to see a whole group of Victoria University post grad students vie to sum up their life's work in 2 minutes in an entertaining fashion! We helped out a couple with their 20th wedding anniversary function - putting on a bit of a Gameshow to help guests from all sorts of parts of the couple's life come together. And Tim Gordon went up into the Waikato to road test his new Henry Graham character for some potential use in September and October. Henry is our own take on a crusty All Black coach and he had theWaikato rocking as MC and quizmaster.

A final interesting challenge in the last couple of weeks has been writing, rehearsing and performing a scripted piece. It was a fantastic opportunity to turn our hands to something that we seldom do but deliver an entertainment product to a client who had some sensitivities with their presentation and needed to make sure they had total control over the event.

Spaced Out, our next show for kids is just around the corner. This marks a new development in our kids' shows - a slightly more structured show but with a much more physical edge to it.

And if you're in Auckland pop over to the Wharf, take in the Cloud and catch us in action!

"I don't think we have all laughed so hard in a long time....The show surpassed our expectations and we would definitely use you again for other functions."
