On
leaving secondary school Tim completed Theological studies and a
Bachelor Arts Degree, majoring in English Literature, was ordained
as a Catholic Priest and served primarily in the Education field
when Drama-in-Education became his passion.
In
1990 he was one of the original founders and artistic directors
of The Improvisors and has performed thousands of times whenever
businesses have wanted to celebrate, educate or facilitate change.
This work in the Government and Corporate Sector has included many
Roles as Emcee and/or Facilitator for Conference and Workshops.
Tim is a skilled motivator and there was none of the HEAVY words
around strategic planning and objectives, goals and the other phrases
that conjure up boring and unproductive sessions.
On
Television Tim has made a meal out of the thirty-second bite as
one of the most prolific commercial faces in New Zealand. As a screen
actor, his most recent credits include the grieving Dad in Stuart
McKenzie's haunting movie, For Good; the crooked Councillor
in Larry Parr's Fracture and the misogynistic bloke in
Adam Steven's Beautiful for which he won Best Actor at
the Drifting Cloud International Short Film Festival. In fact, since
1990 Tim's full time commitment has involved most forms of the media
- performer, actor, actors' agent, producer, director, writer, publicist,
administrator and marketeer - although the best job he has ever
had is being the dad to his two little boys.
Since
2003 Tim has appeared on the stage with a playwright's script in
his head at Circa (A Midsummer Nights Dream, Soulmates,
Wait Until Dark, Four Flat Whites in Italand Gunsmoke)
and at Downstage (Up for Grabs.) Tim is a 5 times Wellington
Theatresports Champion.
In
March this year Tim appeared in the joint NZ/French production The
Letter Writer as part of the NZ International Festival of the
Arts.
