Nic Gorman,
born in Wellington, raised in Christchurch, has had a varied background
in theatre, improv comedy, writing and teaching. He is also a qualified
secondary school teacher.
Nic performed
for years with the Court Jesters in Christchurch, both in their
late night comedy show ‘Scared Scriptless’ and for corporate
work. Nic also appeared in Court Theatre shows “I Scream”,
“Who’s Bard is it Anyway?”, “The Diary of
Anne Frank”, “The Reluctant Dragon”, and “A
Fistful of Dolores”, which he co-wrote with Jared Corbin.
Nic has performed improv since with The Outwits in Christchurch,
the Improviders in Sydney and a couple of shows with “On the
Spot Improv” in Montreal, Canada. He also performed in productions
of David Mamet’s “Sexual Perversity in Chicago”
with Theatre in Action in Hong Kong and “Hamlet” and
“The Tempest” at the Hong Kong Fringe Club.
In 2004 Nic
completed his Masters in Creative Writing at Victoria’s graduate
writing program, and has had fiction published in Staple and Turbine.
He has performed with the Improvisors since 2004.
