Straight out
of high school, Gareth skipped his English exam to become a writer
in the radio industry. After doing just about every job there is
to do on a radio station (at least once) and winning a fist full
of NZ and international creative awards, Gareth left radio to concentrate
on screen production.
His cinematic
claim to fame is that he was the first person ever to wear Weta
Workshop hobbit feet!. He also spent a number of years working at
Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post before leaving to give the
big scary freelance world a nudge.
Recently Gareth
has been working as an animation producer and performing the title
role of TV3’s kids quiz show “The Simon Eliot Show”,
which was nominated for Best Children’s Show in the 2007 Qantas
TV Awards and had it’s second season in 2008.
Throughout
his school and working life Gareth has maintained a love of live
theatre, having performing everything from intimate improvised theatre
to stadium rock musicals.
Gareth was a member of the 2008
Theatresports Champion team The
Other Side.
Gareth was named the Sound Designer of the Year
at the 2008 Chapman Tripp Theatre Awards.
