Grand Prix Northland Champions 2012
Showfields Crusader what a star. 11th & 12th February saw the Northland Dressage
Championships 2012 and we went with the aim of consolidating at GP level. Two
tests both scoring an average of 63% with one judge giving us 66% was really
pleasing. Cruise showed he was more confident and the tests had more flow from
one movement to the next. His piaffe and passage got 8's and boy can he sit !!!
This was our first championship at this level and although we have so much more to
consolidate, I feel now that we are heading in the right direction.
I have to say thank you to a very hard working committee who put on such a
wonderful event and were friendly and helpful all weekend. We will definitely be back
to Northland thanks to all there.

CDN GRAND PRIX CHAMPIONS 2012
What an amazing show it had it all. Storm warnings, up and down performances and
freezing weather. But through it all Cruise got better and better after an average
performance in the Grand Prix he pulled out the stops in the Musical Freestyle on the
Saturday Evening and produced a worthy winning test. Big marks for artistical
impression from both our international judges of 68% and 67% with our very
experienced Betty Brown on 66% there is so much more to come as he consolidates
technically but I think we are on the right track.
A huge thank you to the crew at Fielding the organisers were fantastic and thanks also
to my fellow competitors who were so encouraging.
Now for Horse of the Year to come, and I am really looking forward to taking part in such
a great show.

INTIMO DRESSAGE DAY 1 - Brilliant !!
Sunday 22nd April turned out to be a huge day with big entries. Some
new faces to Showfields had success Kayleigh Ryan with the lovely Storm
Magic took 1st and 2nd battling it out with Ashleigh Williams and her new
horse Ferro in the registered preliminary classes while Caitlin Benzie on
Odie had a win and second in the unregistered preliminary section. Our
very own Showfields Excaliber and Jayne Craike took third in the 1.1 his
very first competition test !!!!! while Showfields Celtic Star and Tania
Maguire was second in the 1.3 class.
Chanelle Walsh and Vollrath Wanted was unbeatable in the Novice
section with two wins, Julie Malcolm and Gigolo a win and a place in the
Elementary.
Bill Noble rode the Rosari Royal Gem for a win in the level 6/7 while
Showfields Crusader and Jayne Craike just pipped Bill in the Grand Prix
for a win by the smallest of margins.
Brilliant food in our cafe, and fast efficient scoring made for a great day. If
you are thinking of entering our next day you had better get your entries in
as we had a waiting list for our last day and looks like it will be the same

HOT SOUP READY AND WAITING ON 20TH MAY
Great entries including 9 FEI entries fantastic. The indoor will be
busy all day. Come and watch some dressage and grab some of
our lovely hot pumpkin soup or a freshly made burger yum. Look
forward to seeing you all here classes start 9.00am and finishes
around 4.30pm cheers and happy riding xx
