Senior Students at Sara Cohen
School
Senior students attend Sara Cohen's Base School
at Rutherford Street, where they enjoy a safe and relaxed
campus with peers. The seniors' programme follows the New Zealand Curriculum and
in addition provides many and varied opportunities for community involvement and
work experience.
Senior groups develop skills to help them independently
access community recreation and leisure pursuits.
There are four classes with students of varying
age and ability. Three groups focus on furthering functional life skills in
literacy, numeracy and communication. For the senior, more able group, emphasis
is on work experience and life beyond school.
