The woven and bordered Maori cloak symbolises Pahiatua School in the following ways:
The fine material used for the cloak itself is highly prized and treasured, this represents the children who go to Pahiatua School.
The taniko border that surrounds the cloak is made up of many different threads that are woven together, this represents the many different groups in our community that work together to support the children of our school.
Kahu Taniko is a group interested in providing support and encouragement to Pahiatua School so that the children of the school can thrive mentally, physically, socially and spiritually. With a holistic approach to education we hope to have a positive influence on the tamariki and whanau of Pahiatua School.
