Formerly the bank of New South Wales,
the building was converted to an Art gallery in 1983.
Designed by Dunedin architect Robert Lawson in 1883.
The Forrester Gallery is an Art Museum for the people of the Waitaki district,
with extensive permanent collection and active exhibitions programme.
