New Zealand Beech Ltd is a company associated with the marketing and supply of hardwood beech timbers from the 3 largest sustainable forestry estates in New Zealand. The company was formed as an associate company of Timber Holdings ltd (the first and largest private holder of a Sustainable management plan in New Zealand) and Greenfern Resource ltd (a company with extensive experience in the processing of beech timbers).Of our three major resources available one has 1.2 million cubic meters of native timber under sustainable management. This timber is mainly Red and Silver Beech and is of exceptional quality with rich colours suitable for furniture, flooring and panelling. The products have been readily accepted in Australia and are now recognized as top quality timbers because of their hardness and colouring. The second major resource available to New Zealand Beech Ltd is a large government owned estate in the South island. This forest produces Hard Beech as well as Red Beech and again is a beautiful hardwood timber. These species are now also becoming established in Australia providing some lovely colour and grain variances for flooring, furniture and panelling. The third major resource is also in the south island and solely produces Silver Beech suitable for furniture and panelling.
All these sources are committed to a sustainable forest management programme whereby the rate of harvest from a native forest is limited to a level at which the forest can continue to supply a periodic yield in perpetuity including the harvest of wind thrown or dead trees while retaining the forest's natural values.
We are involved in the leading edge of production techniques and research programmes, enhancing the product to it's maximum potential thereby ensuring only the best end product is available for domestic and international markets.
