Ian and his late wife Judie made a wise decision in 2004 and abandoned the Auckland City rat race, business stress and grid locked traffic, to purchase this category 2 Historic Place, Karamana (1872) Homestead.
Sadly Judie lost a long battle with cancer in 2008 and Ian now operates Karamana Homestead on his own.
It was hoped that this move to Coromandel would provide a less busy life style. Not a chance. Ian has served in the Royal New Zealand Navy, retail management, New Zealand Police (23 years), has built and renovated several houses, owned a licenced restaurant and before moving to Coromandel, was an Environmental Enforcement Officer with Auckland City Council.
Judie and Ian travelled extensively and thoroughly enjoyed meeting and hosting a wide range of international and kiwi guests. Ian will continue the pride they both felt in "going the extra mile" to ensure you have a relaxing and enjoyable stay at Karamana (1872) Homestead.
