Hello Folks .... well we made it!
What a long way and the roads just went
on and on and on, straight after straight after straight. We finally left
Melbourne on Saturday morning and drove the 700 kms to Adelaide. It was too
windy to put up the tent so we decided one more night in a motel wouldn't
really matter. The next day we went to Woomera. Don't know where they have
the detainees, as we sure couldn't see them. Monday saw us at Coober Pedy,
Tuesday, Alice Springs, the next night Tennant Creek finally arriving at
Katherine last night. It was just wonderful to have Bev & Roger there to
great us.
We are slowly getting the hang of our
new abode, but it will take a little
longer before we have everything sorted out. As you can all imagine, it is
much more relaxed today, and for some reason Michael seems to appreciate
Rogers knowledge of camping more than mine!
Michael and I received a phone call
as we left Adelaide on Sunday to hear
that Paula & Maurice were engaged. They had been at Whitianga with friends
for the w/end, and believe the written proposal with the diamond soliataire
came with the tea and toast in bed. As you can imagine we are very excited
with the news. No wedding date has been fixed yet.
We have certainly enjoyed all the
news from you. Do keep it up. Mike is
rushing around trying to find a T.V. that will show the Rugby tomorrow
night.
Must go and make use of the fabulous
climate here. That means doing the
washing !!! Hope everyone is well. Bye for now
