Evening cruising on the Dominion Post Ferry is a superb way to enjoy a night with friends and colleagues. Being out and about on Wellington’s stunning harbour is a sure way to ensure everyone’s relaxed and having fun. It offers a totally different night out to more usual options such as a dinner out at a local restaurant. Check out the following cruise packages that the Dominion Post Ferry has to offer.

1. Christmas Cruising with the Juke box Jive

Our old favourite for those wanting a full-on evening of music food and fun. We have a jukebox on board for entertainment and dancing. During the cruise around the harbour, you will be served a delicious buffet banquet and of course the bar is open for your choice of wine, beer and spirits.

Cost $55 per head inclusive of cruise, buffet dinner and entertainment.

2. The Casino Cruise

We've teamed up with the best casino operators in town and this will certainly be a night for your staff, colleagues or social club to remember. Our croupiers will be at the tables awaiting your bets!
You will you enjoy a superb buffet meal on board and our fully licensed bar will be open to whet the appetite for the gambling fun. All guests will be issued with gambling chips on boarding and at the end of the evening we'll hold a gala auction for great prizes so you can spend your winnings.

Cost $65 per head inclusive of cruise, buffet dinner and casino fun.

3. Cocktail Cruising

If you are just looking for a special cocktail hour, perhaps before dinner in town or as part of a mystery tour, then this is the one for you. You'll be served hors d'oeuvres on board while you tour the harbour in the comfort of our spacious catamaran and our fully licensed bar will of course be open to serve you drinks.

Cost per head $30/$35 inclusive of cruise and hors d'oeuvres.

4. Hire by the Hour

Another option is to hire the boat by the hour, which doesn’t include food or music. We have a great selection of music and food options available on a per head basis, ranging from nibbles to a full meal, which can accompany the cruise. Or you are more than welcome to organise your own catering if you wish, with this option. To hire the ferry the cost is $500 for one hour,
$850 for 2 hours
and $1150 for 3 hours.

We can then send or fax out menus to you and discuss any other queries you may have. To book a cruise we do require a $10 per head deposit and the balance is payable on or before the night.

The Itinerary

Normal Departure Time
From Queens Wharf 8.00pm
Returns 11.00pm

Once underway and cruising, hors d’oeuvres will be served with the bar open continuously for drinks.
Dinner is usually served an hour into the cruise once the ferry has anchored into a sheltered spot. After dinner, the jukebox is in action with plenty of dancing and entertainment.
If you have any special requirements or requests, please let us know and we will be happy to oblige if possible.

The Fine Print
The ferry accommodates up to 65 guests on catered cruises. The minimum number for the evening cruise mid-week is 30, and on Fridays and Saturdays the minimum is 35.
The cost per head is $50 inclusive of cruise, buffet dinner and jukebox entertainment.
A deposit of $10 per head is required to confirm a cruise. Confirmed numbers at time of deposit may decrease by a maximum of 10% if notified 48 hours prior to the cruise, but in no circumstances can numbers drop below the minimum required.
The balance of the cruise payment is required on or before the night.
The bar can be run on a tab to be paid at the end of the evening or on a pay-as-you-go basis.
