Our foundation

E-Innovation began with a group of consultants who share an enthusiasm for web-enabled solutions that are developed collaboratively and progressively.

Enthusiasm for web-enabled solutions

Web developments, especially XML-based, now have the proven ability to resolve some of the most frustrating and long-lived barriers to better ways of working. All of us have shared those frustrations. However, those barriers became built into our ways of working and thinking. We offer practical experience of the new ways of working and thinking. One of our founders had the lead technical role in one of the first major XML-based web-enabled Business-to-Business solutions in the Asian region. The lessons from our experience are simple: these technologies are robust; their benefits are proven and substantial; the methods work. Our enthusiasm is well founded.

Commitment to working together

At E-Innovation, we are committed to innovative methods for "working together":

  • Our team integrates the different skills required for a total client solution.

  • We partner with you, our clients.

  • We enable software to work together.

  • We enable producers to work together by integrating the value chain.

  • We enable customers and suppliers to find "win/win" outcomes.

  • We promote knowledge management to support collaborative effort.

Preference for "biteable chunks"

Our preference for "biteable chunks", i.e. progressive step-by-step design and implementation, reflects our assessment and experience of best practice in complex implementations - especially IT - but also other organisational changes.

  • Because they enable learning from experience, piloting, prototyping and incremental deployment are superior ways of changing a complex dynamic system, rather than attempting to describe and (re)design all its attributes in a "big bang" change.

  • Adding rigorous "proof of concept" to these other RAD techniques results in a robust core business case for clients - this offers lower risk, faster returns, and higher returns. This approach also supports greater leveraging of existing investment because piloting and prototyping can test the extent/timing of replacement or upgrading required - i.e. potentially lower cost as well!

  • Lastly, this approach delivers the speed you need. Today's implementation time frames must reduce to match the reductions in the lag between the launching and proving of major new developments in almost every dimension of today's technologies. Otherwise, projects get caught between chasing a moving target (trying to incorporate changed technological features in a partially-completed implementation), and implementing something that is obsolete technologically by the time it starts to be used.

Summary - our philosophy in practice

We work with you, our clients, to provide:

  • a foundation of shared understanding of the relevant technologies and their implications for your organization

  • a clearly-defined business opportunity to benefit from these latest developments

  • a robust business case that justifies the proposed changes

  • well-founded enthusiasm among the stakeholders in the propose changes

  • a step-by-step implementation that is referenced to the business case and to agreed stakeholder expectations, and that builds the capability you will need

  • project closure that (a) objectively reviews lessons from implementation; (b) confirms that the client has full ownership and control of the new environment; (c) obtains stakeholder feedback; and (d) updates the vision of future business opportunities, stakeholder benefits, and development options

  • the option of continuing liaison, technology update briefings, and support.
