Life for Jim Luton of Brooklyn, NY is nice and simple when aboard his lightly stretched Windward 15 sharpie, "Cricket". After building her in his third floor apartment he was relieved to discover that she did fit into the buildings service elevator. Rumor has it 'Jim' has been seen re-measuring said lift in contemplation of his next build - A Welsforsd Pathfinder. All I can say is "this must be a bloody big lift". You must also have some very understanding neighbors.. Be sure to check out his website here

John Haugen-Wente sails this wood and canvas Algonquin with Balogh Sail Rig on Lake Mendota, Madison, Wisconsin.   She' light, compact, and very efficient making her perfect for day sailing and extended trips also.  Solo or Tandem.

Peter King, skipper of this Gaff rigged yawl 'Narimwi', seen here sailing on Wellington harbour, would I'm sure agree that John Welsfords, Houdini is one of the better boats available for serious dinghy cruising.

Curt Bowman and his Drascombe Scaffie "Becky Thatcher" sail an inland lake somewhere near St. Augustine, Florida

Doug Elliott took this photo of the prototype Drascombe Scaith, the first of about a dozen he built. Taken during 1976 when undergoing sea trials in the mouth of the River Yealm, Devon, UK, the boat is being sailed by the late John Watkinson, designer of all the Drascombe boats.

Scott Clark sailing 'Wizard' out of Coecles Harbour, Shelter Island - New York. A Nathanael Herreshoff design from 1914. Built exactly to the original design and specs he says you really have to “stay with the program” with such a big main, as she’s often un-stoppable.

the Herreshoff designed Buzzards Bay 25 "Wizard".

Paul & Sally Rossman aboard their newly restored Drascombe Lugger 'Sal Gal' are seen here heading off to explore the salt marsh estuaries of Charleston Harbor, Charleston - South Carolina. USA.

Drascombe Longboat making her way up the "Baie de somme " near the french town of "Le Crotoy"

Less is more?

Nigel McCarter knows a thing or two about the simple pleasures life has to offer. Especially when he's aboard his 'Wee Rob' canoe, seen here deep in the heart of  New Zealands Waikato region.

Rick & Paul Sutton have been having fun with their Pooduck skiff along the Sunshune Coast, Qld. Australia.

Carlos Navarro sailing his Drascombe Lugger 'Pearl' on the Diamond Lake, Southern California.

Jonathan Tremblay of Quebec, Canada built this beautiful Penobscot 17 - 'Perserverance', with the help of his young daughter Stephanie... Well done!

Christian Beamish aboard "Cormorant" an Ian Oughtred designed 18 footer he built to search for the perfect surf break along the Californian coast. He says she sails beautifully.

Another boat by Ian Oughtred. This Caledonia Yawl "Jack Pridmore" is pictured here on launch day, Townsville - Nth Queensland. The crew aboard all contributed to the construction process along with skipper Peter Whalley- Thompson...

Two boats from the same designer, Francois Vivier. Above the Elorn and below an Ilur. These pretty boats are popular in France for rowing and sailing...the website www.vivierboats.com is certainly worth a good close look.

Phil Mislinski enjoys his new CoreSound 17 on the Waterways off the coast of Maine, one of the great openboat paradise. Phils interesting website featuring stunning photography of his boat and other fascinating subject matter can be accessed here... www.pmimage.com
