also A few close up pics of the Navigator Jaunty...
and A few favorite pics of my old Navigator "Jaunty" ( I have now sold Jaunty and I'm about to commence on a new project - stay tuned)

Bavarian Skipper Ralph Gruenig built this 15' sharpie (Bay River Skiff) and
is seen here enjoying her near the mouth of the River
Ombrone in Italy... What great adventure.

Stuart Williams has just sent us this exceptional photo. He assures me that rib steak, blue cheese, cold beer and an open boat are just the ticket for enjoying the spectacular Montana countryside. Add to that a sheltered campsite, a beautiful sunset and one would have to ask the question - What else in the world would you rather be doing??? www.montanaboat.com

This excellent shot of the Drascombe Lugger 'Kalypso' seen here at Cape Wrath, Scotland was sent in by David Nicol. Nice one David, almost has me reaching for the Single Malt...

Steve Earleys new boat. The Pathfinder that he built himself, Spartina. Well done Steve, I look forward to hearing more of you adventures together...

Martin Kortlucke sends this fantastic picture of "Mostly Harmless" a Bolger folding schooner sailing off Stradbroke Island, Moreton Bay - Australia. Looks like she'd get along pretty sweetly me thinks...

From the Philippines comes this great shot of Steve Henshall negotiating the Mangroves aboard the boat Aquila. Designed and built by him self, sail is poly tarp and boat construction is stitch and epoxy fillet. He has about $200 US invested in the three month build and he assures me she sails well and is good natured all round. Steve has an interesting web site that can be accessed here

another Navigator! looking stunning in the afternoon light is John Chippers Class-y.

and here we see her once again. This time we're all aboard as she explores her way along the coast some where in the notorious Cook Straight. www.moanalodge.co.nz features Johns superb waterfront lodgings...

Godfrey Stephens of Victoria B.C. Canada sent these interesting pictures of the same boat taken some years apart. Godfrey and the 20 foot dug out canoe Snookwis have clocked up many miles together, going through quite a few different rigs along the way - from Sprit to gaff then to the asian full battened unstayed Lug, and now a Junk Lug Yawl.

Sailing is meant to be simple...

Dave Johnstone sent this picture of his new Navigator "Korora". He tell me he's getting a little impatient and is looking forward to seeing her in the water...he's hoping for a spring launch.

Paul Groome, of first Pathfinder to be built fame has embarked on yet another "all consuming activity" . This time he has ripped the cabin off his newly purchased 22 foot Woollacott - no doubt hoping to recreate the salty wind in your face openboat feel he's been used to. But seriously Paul is a man with a vision and energy to burn. His complete rebuild of this yacht will see "Sheryl" back to her former glory...

Dave Robertson from over there at www.woodenboat.net.nz still reminisces about his Navigator "Wairua"...

and who can blame him.

Recently met this guy Nic...who, to his own design, built this boat on an almost zero budget, He has cruised her quite extensively...the most expensive part was a pair of second hand oars...
