Margret H and Me. Lautoka fisheries wharf, Fiji. I may be smiling but the truth is I was sick as a dog with some sort of food poisoning on day one of my adventure up in those incredible islands...

The  Drascombe Lugger "Trizonia" seen here sailing in the Netherlands with skipper Gijs van Kemenade.

Gijs also sent this picture and a great story (1.8mb pdf) of his 1988 cruise of the Greek Islands aboard a 4.45 meterFrench Simoun ...

From the wilds of West Africa, in fact Senegal no less is this great shot of Jonathan Bornman and his adventurous young crew aboard the boat he built himself, a Marisol skiff, "Dolphin. A yacht designed by Aucklander Gifford Jackson...Sure looks sturdy enough .

Elena and Pablo sent this pic of their boat ( I think a Drascombe Lugger) anchored at Santander in northern Spain. What Fun...

Marius Van Tonder snapped this shot of Brigitte having a barbeque aboard “Dawdle” before spending an idyllic night together on a rather tranquil looking Langebaan lagoon (South Africa). How bloody superb...

This 21 foot Crotch Island Pinky seen sailing at Cape San Blas Florida belongs to John Steadham. That is a serious looking boat.... However John is seeking to build something a little smaller. . Navigator Perhaps?

These shots are from a regatta held recently on the South Islands - Lake Mahinapua. A very beautiful location and a very nice day by the looks of things...

This classic Idle-Along was built in 1938. Imagine that! War breaks out half a world away in Europe just as your adding the finishing coats of varnish to your new pride and joy. You must ask yourself the question. Shall I sign up now and help defend King and country or should I spend the season sailing the South Islands many beautiful lakes. Ummm... decisions decisions.

The Yacht Club at Lake Mahinapua. Is that a beautiful location or what?

and another from Dave Johnstone who sent these pics. What a fantastic spot. The yacht doesn't look to bad either. Apparently a design by Mathews...Cheers for the great photos Dave. I think we should all try to make our way there next year. The West coast of the South Island has to be seen to be believed...

In the North Island now and here we see Peter King sailing off Plimmerton in his tidy looking Houdini Yawl, Narimwi. If you are looking for a serious cruising dinghy you would be hard pressed to find one better...

Mike Duncan is seen here aboard his Pepper 15, Frisky Lady - navigating his way across Great Harbor, Maine USA. Mike is at this very moment working on his next project. A Caledonia Yawl. Nice...
