Bill and Mike Wickett have been getting the most from their New Boat as the following email and pictures testify...

Hi Dave,

Right in the middle of a hot summer here in Ontario.
Mike (my son) and I got the boat into Georgian Bay this past weekend.
A myriad of granite "whaleback" islands and clear twisting channels
between. Used a combination of motor and sail to get out to an island
campsite. Was there 2 years ago, and it was just as nice a place this
time. Second day we sailed 7 miles north and back for the day.
Stopped at a boat in restaurant for a great fish dinner. Wind was
quite light on the way back. Made a second stop at "Wreck Island" and
tied up along a granite wall. Time for swim. Ghosted back to our
un-named island camp by about 8:00 pm. Into the tent by 9:30pm to
escape the mosquitoes. Millions!
Woke up to rain about 5 am, so we laid in until about 8. Ate a quick
meal, then loaded up. Was really happy with the gear capacity of the
boat. Wind was right on the nose all the way back to the ramp, and
channels were narrow, so we motored most of the way. Got a good beat
before the ramp where it opened up some. Great 3 day weekend. Looking
forward to more tiller time in the North Channel above Manitoulin
Island in August.
Regards,

Bill Wickett
Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

Benjamin Perez sent this photo of his DRAKE18 on the island of Houat (France) Reminds me of the days I used to cruise on my Hobie 16 - INXS. Wet, fast, minimalist and quite often just a little bit scary...All good fun though.

Bill and Mike Wickett of Cambridge, Ontario-Canada have just traded in the Naiad for this NorseBoat 17.5 and are again looking forward to cruising the Georgian Bay this summer...
