David Johnstone sent these great shots taken at the Lake Rotoiti Classic Boat show held just recently...

where he met and no doubt fell in love with Noel Carlile's beautifully presented Navigator - 'Waiata'

looks to have been a great day out that's for sure...

and what about that location. Bloody spectacular.

Lake Rotoiti is near Nelson. The top of New Zealands South Island.

the owner of this beauty must have shares in yachtspar varnish...

as does this owner...

Wow..

Nice...

I'm thinking that Lake Rotoiti classic boat regatta is the place to be next summer. Thanks Dave for the brilliant pictures. You must be a professional photographer, if not your a damned good imitation of one.

The Blackburns of Australia again, and what a shot. That's absolutely what its all about.

and again, this time savoring a thirty mile broad reach down the coast of Queensland's beautiful Fraser Island. Nice.

Nigel and Linda Mc Carter have turned to the paddle...

Randy Wheating sent this lovely shot from some where near Vancouver. Its either the beginning or the end of a very nice day...

and there is Randys boat, Bluster. Not quite open but certainly pretty. A twenty foot Chebacco cat yawl.

The two shots above are of recently launched "Kokako" on Auckland's Waitemata Harbour. Built by Richard Whitney, he's no doubt seriously lookin' forward to the southern summer.

Steve Earley of Nth Carolina, USA spotted here off Ocrakokie Island. This nice lookin' gaff rigged sloop goes by the name of Spartina and he enjoys her immensely.

Alan Donaldson and his Sea Pearl Tri enjoying Yellowstone Lake, Wyoming USA (hope he's got the Bear repellent)

the Blackburn family of Australia enjoy cruising Queensland's stunning Fraser Island.

Look at that sky...how very Qld. Probably taken during winter as well no doubt. We'd all have to be a bit jealous of those sort of conditions surely...I know I am.

Phil Bacon sends us a pic of another Sea Pearl 21. This one has some history and was once known as 'Voyage through America'. She has clocked up some serious mileage sailing the east coast of the United States . Here she is cruising Point Lookout, North Carolina.

This great shot is from none other than Kiwi design legend "John Welsford". Here he's found himself a very pretty spot for the night for his Houdini... Proof positive that New Zealand is an openboaters Paradise?

Bill Waggener of Sarasota, Florida loves to get out on his Naiad with the wife and kids.

Michael Rossouw of New Zealand would love to catch up with his past love, this beautiful Swampscott Dory. If any one knows of her whereabouts these days please contact me and I'll arrange a date for them so they may catch up with one another...

These two shots are of George Trevelyans Whale Boat "Molly" sailing some where in the United States. She sure looks like a lot of FUN...

Ahh... two familiar looking craft. Jaunty and the new Pathfinder "Varuna" enjoying delicious winter conditions at Aucklands Rangitoto Island...

Ok, so there's no sails but John Blazy of Florida (I think) has built himself this very lovely electric "glass bottom" launch. Nice one...

Interesting Irish curragh spotted by the Thames at Lechlade. One skin of er, um skin?

Lindsay Fenwick cruising the Gulf aboard his Houdini. some where near Kawau Island

Wayne Burke of Florida U.S.A has totally renovated this charming little dinghy that he rescued from the local junk yard. Nice work.

Tom Flewett of Wellington, NZ and his tidy looking Nav sporting the Bermudan yawl. He says he love the extra power and I believe him.

from this...

to this...a 10' dinghy with a P class rig launched recently at long bay Auckland. Maurice O'Brien is ready for next summer. Great fun.
