Descendents of Alexander MacLeod, Torbreck, Assynt.

Alexander MacLeod is as far back as I have traced in my direct line. He was born about 1780 and was a soldier in the 93rd foot or Sutherland Highlanders. He retired from the army on a Chelsea Pension and was living at Balchladich in the parish of Assynt, Sutherlandshire when he married Margaret Kerr from Drumbaig on 23 Feb 1823 at Baddygrinan. Their first child was baptized at Drumbaig but they lived the rest of their lives at Torbreck where eight other children were born. He died circa 1854, aged about 74, and is buried [1] in Lochinver.
