"I've decided to stand primarily because I believe in the principles ACT stands for and I would like to see it build its credibility, present itself better and grow into a more effective, powerful political force.
I have a long association with the promotion of the ideals of ACT. I was communications adviser to Sir Roger Douglas and Richard Prebble when they were implementing their reforms. I have also provided professional advice and services to ACT's campaign committee and a number of its MPs over recent years.
I've had many years' experience in senior professional communications roles in the public and private sectors and in community service. I have wide, diverse networks of colleagues and contacts throughout New Zealand and abroad. I see this as an opportunity to use that experience and to contribute my particular skills in a way that might make a difference.
I come to ACT with no baggage and no personal political agenda, but I do have some fresh perspectives on how to build the party and its credibility.
I have huge respect for Sir Roger Douglas, Derek Quigley and Richard Prebble and the many other outstanding and talented people in ACT, both in parliament and in the party structure. I would regard it as a privilege to work with and for them."
