QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Q. What type of franchises are available?

A. An Individual Area Business franchise is a protected area where YOU and only YOU can place Carousel Kitchen Light Meal vending machines.

Q. How big is the area I will have?

A. Depending on the number of machines you purchase will depend on the size of the Area. The more machines you purchase the bigger the AREA will be.

Q. How many machines do I have to buy?

A. The least number of machines you can buy is five (5).

Q. Why?

A. If you look at the financial figures on this web site you will see a comparison in relation to placing your money in the bank and a Carousel Kitchen purchase. If you purchased less than five (5) machines there would be no challenge or financial gain.

Q. How much will this cost me?

A. There are NO franchise or royalty fees. A standard Individual Business Area consists of at least five (5) machines. The more machines you buy the greater the discount. Remember the total cost for the business is the cost of the equipment. Other franchises charge a franchise fee for an IDEA – not for the equipment.

For 10 machines or more we offer a 5% discount.

Q. What other costs are involved?

A. There is a small monthly management fee based on the number of machines purchased. This small fee covers training, administration, promotion and technical support, as well as group seminars and so on.

Q. How does the franchise work?

A. Vending machines are placed in factories, schools, motels, hotels, office blocks, health clubs – in fact anywhere you will find people congregating. The process could be likened to having your own dairy in each workplace.

Q. Who places the machines?

A. You have two options.
  1. You can place the machines yourself, or
  2. Crijar will provide an independent sales person who will work for you and place machines. Any fee involved would be between you and the salesperson.

Q. What support do I get from the parent company?

A. Everything you need to start your business is supplied by Crijar. There is on-going technical and promotional support from Crijar Limited. An accounting package is supplied along with an Operations Manual.

Q. Can I buy extra machines?

A. Once you have purchased your five or so initial machines, further machines may be purchased individually or in bulk discounted lots. Start small and work your way into a big business.

Q. How do I get my food supplies?

A. You are able to purchase your food supplies anywhere you wish. Carousel Kitchen has accounts with some wholesalers which you are free to use or you can set up you own accounts. Crijar will assist you in that respect. You will need a small storage area at your place of business so that food can be packaged.
Just mix and match various foods to make up your own combinations of Light Meals to cater for the individual requirements of the staff and customers at each venue.

Q. What other opportunities are available?

A.
  1. The Australian Master franchise is available NOW, as well as the five Australian State franchises. For more information call Ross or contact Alan at Saxon Group.
  2. Franchises for other products are always being developed. Call Ross to enquire about 'Scents & Sensibilities' vending businesses.

Q. Can I visit you?

A. Please do. In fact you are encouraged to do so. You will see the actual machines and talk over any problems or queries that you may have.

Q. What happens if I have machine break downs?

A. You will receive at least three days training in relation to the working of the machine. As it is mechanical there is virtually nothing that can go wrong. If there is a major problem then the particular door (which has the main working componentry attached to it) can be replaced and the problem door sent back for repairs.

Q. How does the machine work?

A. The machine is totally mechanical and designed to dispense the product and to take the money. There is absolutely NO COST to the management. Full details of this mystery will be revealed when the confidentiality form is completed.

Q. How do I know which is my Individual protected Area?

A. Your protected area is clearly marked on a map with the boundaries outlined.

Q. What happens if Carousel Kitchen goes 'belly-up'?

A. This is not likely to happen, but to ease your mind:
  1. YOU will still have a business.
  2. YOU will still own machines earning an income that is a lot more than the Bank will give you in interest each year.
  3. YOU will be able to still supply the food products for the machines.
  4. YOUR business will still operate.

Q. Do I need to be GST registered?

A. Not when you first get started but ultimately you could find many benefits in being GST registered.

Q. How do I become a Franchisee for this exciting new venture?

A. Some Areas in Auckland have already been allocated so you need to contact me as soon as possible. You will be asked to sign a confidentiality document and a form called an "Application to become a franchise holder". Then you are on your way. Pay for the equipment and sign the Franchise Agreement and your business will start.
