The Ambassador Motor Lodge is situated just 10 minutes walk from Oamaru Town Centre, where there are restaurants, bars and taverns as well as the outstanding Oamaru Stone Architecture, Historic Precinct, Museum and Art Gallery. We are just a short drive to Oamaru’s unique Little Blue and Yellow eyed Penguin colonies or we can arrange ‘pick up’ from our motel by the ‘Penguin Express’ for guided tours to both colonies. Oamaru is 116km from Dunedin and 283kms from Christchurch and is known as the Gateway to the Waitaki and Southern Lakes District. View map

Our Motor Lodge:
We have 11 quiet and comfortable self-contained units, serviced daily. Studio one and two bedroom units with the choice of cooked or continental breakfasts delivered to your room. We have plenty of off street parking and are adjacent to Orana Park, which provides a children’s play area.

We provide ‘Hotspot’ Secure Wireless Internet for our Business and Corporate travellers also charge back facilities from most of the popular local restaurants.
