Transformer Hire

Transformers are available in both oil cooled and air cooled enclosures and range in size from 1 Kva to 100 Kva. They are ideal for supplying "full isolation" as an alternative where earth leakage circuit breaker tripping is a problem and/or "neutral connections" in situations where only 3 phases are available. Eg: shorepower for vessels moored at New Zealand ports.

The following are the sizes and configurations of the transformers which are available:

  • 100 Kva, 75 Kva and 25 Kva 3 phase transformers with 400 volt primary windings and secondary winding tappings for voltages ranging from 110 volts to 440 volts AC and complete with an integral rectifier to give outputs of 110 volts and 220 volts DC.

  • 100 Kva and 15 Kva 3 phase transformers with 400 volt (plus or minus 4%) primary windings (to compensate for possible voltage drop in the supply voltage) and secondary winding tappings for voltages ranging from 220 volts to 440 volts.

  • 7 Kva and 5 Kva 3 phase transformers with 400 volt primary windings and 220 volt secondary windings.

  • 5 Kva, 3 Kva and 1 Kva single phase transformers with 230 volt primary windings and 110 volt secondary windings.

The larger 3 phase transformers range in weight from 1500 Kg to 300 Kg and can be delivered by our Hiab equipped truck to any location in the greater Auckland area. Transport further afield is via haulage contractors servicing the location where the transformer is required.

The smaller single phase transformers are lighter so can be handled manually and can be carried in a light commercial vehicle or in some cases the boot of a car.

In conjunction with the transformers we also have for hire associated equipment such as extension leads and cables to allow for a variety of connection options from 400 volt and 230 volt single and 3 phase sockets of varying sizes to direct connection to main switchboards.

Our experienced staff are available for the "setting up" of transformers and associated equipment in any location within New Zealand and the greater Pacific area.
