Multiplex Solutions for Vehicle Control and Monitoring The VDO Commercial Vehicle Division is a leading developer of advanced technology information systems for heavy duty trucks, buses, construction, and agricultural equipment. Multiplexed Electronic Systems (MUX) represent the next step in information processing and control for commercial vehicles. The VDO MUX system replaces bulky, labor-intensive cable harnesses with a Controller Area Network (CAN) bus system, which provides computerized control and monitoring of vehicle functions and power distribution. Compared to traditional cable assemblies, relays, and fuses, the MUX approach offers reduced cost and assembly time, and provides fully programmable functions and system diagnostics. Based on modular components and a proven software set, the VDO MUX provides design flexibility and the ability to integrate the vehicle management system into the control and monitoring network. |
