Fiordland
I want you
to come and see the joy I have found,
To see the
valleys, to hear the birds, to smell the ground.
To look in
awe at the snow-capped peaks,
And to explore
the wild places that may never have had the tread of man,
But were made
for us by the Creator’s hand.
To feel the
rain soak you to the skin,
To experience
the feeling of being insignificant in this majestic place made by Him.
To hear the
bugleing scream of the Wapiti bull,
To be on the
tussock tops in the evening chill.
To wake to
the screeching Keas at dawn,
To be irresistibly
to Fiordland drawn.
