Text toTable

What do you mean by Text to Table?
Well what I really mean is that if you provide me with numerical output from say an accounting program then I will convert it into spreadsheet format such as found in Excel.
What benefit would Text to Table be to my company?
You might be surprised at how useful it can be to be able to sort alphabetically within a single cost code or to combine a group of cost codes then arrange them by increasing value.
If a tax auditor ever asked you to give a breakdown of entertainment expenses for example then you would appreciate the benefit of simply sorting. Combining several cost codes then sorting provides a very easy way of locating which account a particular payment was made from.
How much will Text to Table cost me?
The following rules are provided for Mr Average.
Files up to 1 MB and containing not more than 10 columns cost NZ$10 (incl GST within NZ) or $USD5 offshore.
An additional charge of NZ$10 (incl GST within NZ) or $USD5 offshore will be made for each additional MB file size and NZ$10 (incl GST within NZ) or USD5 offshore for each additional set of up to ten columns.
For example a 1.7MB file containing 19 columns would cost NZ$40 or USD20 for conversion from txt to xls.
The above charge includes removal of empty columns, rows containing unwanted headers, sorting as required and rebuiding of totals column after sorting.
Where several files are to be combined the charge will be worked out by summing up the individual files prior to combining.
Mr Bulk, Mr Basic and Mr Often should try to negotiate a better deal whereas Mr Complex should not be surprised if I reserve the right to negotiate payment which more fairly reflects the work done.
How and when do I pay for Text to Table?
Payment is to be made in advance preferably by internet banking to the following ANZ Frankton cheque account: 010311 0061580 00 otherwise by mail to 208A Maeroa Road Hamilton New Zealand.

The preferred method of communication is email to thorpt@xtra.co.nz
However I can also be reached in the following ways:
Postal 208A Maeroa Road Hamilton NZ
Phone 64 7 8471393
Fax 64 7 8471394
How do we make the text file to send you?
There are three main ways. The main method is to utilise provision within the application software to enable output to be sent to a file instead of to the printer.
The next method is to tick the Print to file box found in all MS Windows Print windows.
Finally if all else fails and you find yourself left with printout as the only source of data then scanning followed by OCR (Optical Character Recognition) can be used. The OCR bit can be left to me if you are not too comfortable with it.
Ops I almost forgot to mention CSV (Comma Separated Value) files such as obtained by down loading from internet banking.
How do we send you a text file up to or even larger than 1 MB?
SendThisFile makes it possible to email large files quickly, securely and easily using my email address: thorpt@xtra.co.nz. Files up to 50 or 100MB can be sent this way. There is no charge for using this service.

What qualifies you to help us with Text to Table?
The following quote has more relevancy than the fact thaat in the past I gained both a BSc and BE from the University of Auckland:
"Those who are most versatile are seldom great in any one department: and the stupidest people can generally do something. The highest preeminence in any one study commonly arises from the concentration of the attention and faculties on that one study."
What else can I do besides Text to Table?
I am fluent in setting up Excel formulae, particularly for the generation of the commonplace P&I repayment schedule.
