Hello Everyone, Thank you for visiting my website. I hope you find it useful and informative. This is a confusing time for voters, especially for those who voted for the Alliance in the last election. Politically, I have felt my mandate is to represent the policies on which I was elected and the people who elected me. Party politics have never been important to me. What is important to me is working on the issues of justice and fairness wherever I am. When the Alliance split, I was not interested in disturbing the stability of this government and that is why I remained exactly as I was elected and did not make a move to join any faction. Since I was elected to Parliament in 1996, I've worked to keep our environment GE free. The fact that we are still GE free and we still have this choice has been achieved to a great extent by the work I have put in along with Greens' Sue Kedgley I had hoped to see some of the bills I had been working on in recent months, before the election was called. Most recently I introduced an amendment to the "Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Bill" which would see the moratorium extended indefinitely until such time as the technology proves it is completely safe. I had also been working extremely hard on the Gambling Control Bill The other Bill I would have liked to have seen passed is the Local Government Bill, a major piece of local government reform introduced by Sandra Lee which will stop privatisation of water and waste water. In May this year I launched a campaign in support of proper services for people disabled with ME, and already a great deal of progress has been made here with more than 30 MPs joining an ME support group I would like to thank everyone who has supported me, and the causes I have been battling for, during my time in Parliament. I received many letters of support daily whilst I was an MP, and knowing you were out there backing me was what kept me going when times got tough. I am still considering what future path to take but you can guarantee I will continue to fight for justice and fairness for those to whom life has dealt a tough hand. You can follow my progress by continuing to visit this website. And please feel free to email me at bunklepp@xtra.co.nz Best wishes
